3. George CLENDON (photo) was born on 1 Aug 1798 in Deal, Kent, England. He was baptised on 31 Aug 1798 in Deal, Kent, England. He died on 28 Nov 1887 in Buckners, Louisa Co, Va, USA. He was a chemist by profession. In 1847 at the age of fifty he emigrated with his family and two nephews, George Clendon Chitty and Frederick John Parson Chitty to the USA. On 29 June 1850 he bought 100 rods of land in Glens Falls NY. He later moved to Cleveland Ohio before in 1871 moving to live with his son Benjamin in Louisa County, Virginia, USA. A full account of his life, of his son Thomas's life and of his UK's and NZ's grandson's lives are to be found in the book "The Clendons".

He was married to Mary Ann DRAPER in 1826 in ? Ramsgate, Kent, England. Mary Ann DRAPER (photo) was christened on 27 Sep 1801 in Margate, Kent, England. She died in 1878 in Louisa County, Va, USA. George CLENDON and Mary Ann DRAPER had the following children:
