Rev David Arthur CLENDON.255. Dr Douglas Ryland Thomas CLENDON (photo) was born on 10 May 1898 in Dolgellau, Wales. He died on 10 Jul 1970 in Colchester, Essex, England. He was a General medical practitioner & anesthetist in Colchester, Essex, England. MA (Cantab) MRCS LRCP of Colchester. He attended Emmanuel College, Cambridge. Douglas researched the Clendon family tree back to it's medieval roots in Northamptonshire, England, via Kent through to the migrations to the USA and New Zealand. He worked with Erik Chitty (an actor and Fellow of the Society of Genealogists)) as the George Clendon marriage to Elizabeth Chitty was the first of three Clendon Chitty marriages. Douglas produced a Clendon family tree in 1954. In 1974 Erik Chitty published the 1974 edition of the Chitty - Clendon family tree, a 200 page document. One thousand were produced. Erik was assisted by Bette Edwards.
