She was married to William Lott HOWARD on 29 Oct 1829 in Deal, Kent, England. William Lott HOWARD was baptised on 17 Apr 1803 in St Leonards, Deal, Kent, England. He died on 21 Jul 1865 in Blenheim, New Zealand. He was a Post Master. He was buried in Wakapuaka Cemetery, New Zealand. Witnesses to marriage were G[eorge].Clendon, Eliza Howard, Sara Ann Clendon, M[ary] Parson Clendon. William and Rebecca emigrated to New Zealand, where William was Post Master of the Canterbury District, and a prominent figure in the development of New Zealand Postal Services. He was postmaster at Kororareka during the Maori disturbances. He arrived in Nelson, NZ 29 Sept 1845 on "Victoria" from Auckland. Some info on descendants supplied also supplied by Warwick Empson.
